Brass metal round compact with victorian portrait decoration

I've only just realised I haven't take photos of inside, I can do if you would like them but it is half full of powder still and the sponge. It's a round brass item with lid. The front has a old portrait of a lady, possibly Victorian. There are no markings on the outside to say who made it, when or with what. It's possible there is something inside under the powder etc. but I've not looked.
